enMask & Mythos | Leap Program, Spring 2020 Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis
grades 6-8
Students developed a fictional character/persona through character/narrative development exercises. During the 10 week program lessons explored mask history/practices and contemporary artists whose practices engage with character, narrative, and performance. Students applied the techniques gathered through sequenced building of varied material processes to create a mixed media mask that they brought to life in short gestural performance.
