Hello I'm is an interactive social sculpture that prompts viewers to approach the file cabinet and select a name tag according to their ethnicity. If the participant is of European descent they are to select the name tag from drawer 'A', and participants from "othered" ethnicity are invited to select a name tag from drawer 'B'. This piece engages with the binary nature of race in the United States and how privilege may be ascribed according to one's ethnic background. One's ability to simply select from a drawer is more complicated if they are of mixed heritage. The participant ultimately is given many choices, to choose, to ascribe, to wear their privilege or lack of privilege.
